About People Matters Kigali-Rwanda

People Matters Kigali-Rwanda is a dedicated platform for HR professionals across Rwanda, fostering collaboration, knowledge sharing, and innovation within the HR field. Founded by Murenzi Steven, People Matters Kigali-Rwanda brings together HR leaders, practitioners, and experts to explore the latest trends, challenges, and opportunities in the Rwandan labor market. Our mission is to elevate the HR profession in Rwanda by promoting best practices, championing employee well-being, and supporting organizations to create positive and productive workplace environments. Through quarterly events, a monthly newsletter, and industry-specific publications, we facilitate continuous learning and networking among HR professionals and create a strong community united by a commitment to excellence.

OUR FOUNDER

Murenzi Steven is a seasoned Human Resources professional with a strong commitment to advancing workplace environments and employee well-being in Rwanda. Serving as Director for People Management at Rwanda Revenue Authority (RRA) and a WCO Accredited HRM Expert, Steven leads initiatives that enhance internal communication, promote agile HR strategies, and foster an inclusive and engaged workplace culture. His work at RRA supports aligning HR functions with organizational objectives, significantly improving staff experience and operational efficiency

As the founder of People Matters Kigali-Rwanda, Steven has established a vibrant platform for HR professionals to connect, explore trends, and champion best practices tailored to Rwanda's labor market. Through People Matters, he organizes quarterly events and publishes the People Matters Newsletter monthly, providing valuable insights and resources for HR practitioners. He also leads the People Matters Awards, a program that celebrates HR excellence in Rwanda's public, private, and NGO sectors, recognizing initiatives that prioritize employee satisfaction and engagement.

He is a member of Charted Institute of Charted Institute for Personnel and Development (CIPD) and co-founder of the Rwandan Human Resources Management Organization (RHRMO) affiliated to the AFHRMA (African Federation of Human Resource Management Associations) as well as the World Federation of People Management Associations (WFPMA)

Known for his strategic insight and collaborative approach, Steven is deeply invested in building high-performing, inclusive work environments that contribute to business success and employee satisfaction, and his work continues to shape Rwanda's HR landscape positively.
